It is hard to believe that 2022 is drawing to a close. I have enjoyed my two terms at Elm Park School and am looking forward to 2023. We have made good inroads since I took on the principalship in term 3. We will build on this progress next year with both our educational strategic goals and our property work which is fairly ongoing.
School reports will be given out on Monday 12 December. Please do read the report with your child and have a discussion. I have read a number of reports and two things struck me, 1) how well your teacher knows your child 2) there is much progress and achievement to be celebrated both from an academic point a view and a personal growth perspective.
We farewell Brittany Rowe at the end of the year. Brittany is taking up a position at Point View and we wish her all the best. Aimee-Rose Yates also resigned as she takes time to concentrate on her health but will still be taking on relief work next year. We also farewell Martina Muckova to take up a position at Anchorage Park and Cherie van Lister who will be teaching at Everglade Primary next year. Katherine Sweetman who has been a Learning Assistant is leaving and we thank her too. Thank you to you all for what you have contributed to Elm Park School.
I would like to thank all our staff for their dedication and hard work throughout 2022. I know they are all looking forward to the summer break!
We farewell our 2022 Y6 group as they go off to intermediate school. From all of us at Elm Park School we wish you well for the rest of your school career. Kia kaha Y6 2022.
I am pleased to say that Elm Park School have raised $1800.00 through our Dollar4Schools lunch scheme. We will be purchasing sports equipment for the school which I am sure will be enjoyed by all of our Elm Park students. The online lunch initiative has been very successful.
Very exciting news is that our new Junior Playground will begin construction on Thursday 15th December 2022. We are hopeful that construction will be complete by the end of February 2023. Our Junior students will no doubt be very eager to try out all the new equipment and explore the new playground.
I extend warm wishes to you all for the festive season and hope you all have a pleasant summer break. I look forward to seeing you all in the new year on the first day of our school year which is Tuesday 31 January 2023.
