Dear Parents/Caregivers and Whānau of Elm Park School
Greetings, Kia ora, Fakaalofa Lahi atu, Bula vinaka, Malo e lelei, Talofa lava, Taloha, Kia orana, Ni hao
Term 3 has started successfully, and it looks like to be another busy and productive term. It is hard to believe that we are now in the second half of 2023. We are already in planning mode for 2024. You may have read media stories about the teacher shortage. It is very real, and I think we will experience it as we, like all schools, will have staff movement.

This week we welcomed our international student group from Korea. This group of students comes from Shinan County and has a long relationship with the school. This is, however, their first visit since the pandemic. They are only here for three weeks and in that time, will become immersed in school life at Elm Park School. I would like to acknowledge and thank Mrs Sarah Choi and Mrs Lauren Russell for all their work with the coordination in making this trip possible.
The Elm Park School Learner: We have been developing our values and constructing some core values around each of our main values. We are all learners at Elm Park, and these values underpin all that we do. These core values are for students, staff, BOT and our whānau community.

Tired of Tech?
Find it hard to limit device time at home? You are not alone! The Parents Centre has some great resources for families to have a look at.
Property Update
We have had some significant hold ups due to the weather with the refurbishment of Rooms 28 - 30. However, now that they have wrapped the build we hope progress will gather pace. The hall is completed and this has been a big job but we are very pleased with the outcome. The next big project will be the administration building which will be out of action all of Term 1 2024. It is a weather tightness project - essentially it is a leaky building.
All the best for the rest of Term 3. Thank you for your continued support of our school. We always appreciate it.
Kind regards
